Toby James Bertus Watson was born at 8:39 on October 4, 2009. He weighed in at a solid 4.62 kg and was 56 cm long. What a beautiful, perfect, healthy, little baby boy. Daria was absolutely amazing after a much shorter but still tough labour. Unlike with Lila, who was a week late, Toby arrived right on time at 40 weeks. Daria woke up in the very early morning saying "yup labour is starting", the folks arrived to look after Lila after the early morning "call" and in short order we were on the way to the hospital. It was the Sunday when daylight savings kicked in, the clocks jump an hour forward weekend, so everything was a little out of whack. The midwives ran late changing shifts, the weather was unseasonably cold, gloomy and wet but a ray of sunshine dropped into our lives just after 8:30am. And so starts Toby's tale:
